Become a Yush
Event Ambassador
Get people talking at festivals, fairs and conferences - signs, markers, photos, and 30-second feedback on a tablet. Paid by the hour, event by event.

The role
At Yush we make event feedback fun, visual and human. On the ground, you're the person who makes that happen.
You'll walk the venue with prompt signs and markers, invite people to finish a line like "______ caught my attention" or "[Event name] is all about ______", take a great photo of them holding it, then guide them through a 30-second feedback form on a tablet. That's the job. It's chatty, it's physical, and when it's going well it's the most fun thing in the room.
What you'd actually do
- 1Mingle
Walk up to people mid-event and start a warm, quick conversation. No script to read out.
- 2Get them writing
Hand over a sign and a marker and help them land a line they're happy with.
- 3Take the photo
A clean, bright shot of them holding their sign. We'll show you the framing we like.
- 4Capture the feedback
Two or three tap-to-answer questions on a tablet. Thirty seconds, then they're back to the event.

Who we're looking for
- People first
You enjoy approaching strangers and you bring energy that's contagious, not pushy.
- Reads the room
You match the tone of the event, whether that's a lively outdoor festival or a professional conference. You're representing the organiser's event, not just Yush.
- Comfortable with a tablet
You can work a simple app and take a decent photo.
- Reliable
You turn up on time, you stay upbeat through the quiet stretches, and you tell us early if plans change.
Probably not for you if you'd rather not approach people cold — that's the whole job, and it's much more fun if it comes naturally.
Practicals
- Onboarding & trial rate: £14/hour
- Your first event. We brief you and work the floor alongside you.
- Standard rate: at least £17/hour
- Every event after that. Paid promptly after each shift.
- Shifts are usually 2–4 hours
- Mostly weekends and weekday evenings, offered event by event. There's no rota and no obligation on either side. We'll let you know what's coming up and you say yes or no.
- We bring
- Signs, markers, tablet, and a short briefing before doors open.
- You bring
- Yourself, comfortable shoes, and your own way to and from the venue. Travel isn't covered, so we always tell you the location up front.
- Outdoors happens
- Some events are outdoor. Dress for Scotland. 🌧️ ☀️🤞 We will let you know if it's in or outdoor beforehand though!
What you'd help make
Every sign and photo ends up on a live reactions page the organiser shares with their audience.

Recent events include Tectonic, the Edinburgh Multicultural Festival and the YCF Conference.

Two minutes. We'll send you the details when an event near you comes up.
Common questions
No. Enthusiasm and confidence talking to strangers matter far more. We'll show you the rest on your first shift. But if you do have event experience, feel free to share that too :)
It's event by event, not a rota. Some months are busy, some are quiet. We'll message you when something's on and you say yes or no.
Yes — most of our crew do. Shifts are short and usually evenings or weekends.
